Frequently Asked Questions

These Frequently Asked Questions cover TaxConnect, FBR e-invoicing, and staying compliant.

TaxConnect validates invoices against the FBR schema before submission, catching common errors like missing HS codes, incorrect tax calculations, or invalid CNICs upfront. If a rejection still occurs, FBR returns a detailed error code and message. TaxConnect displays this error clearly and highlights the field that needs fixing. You can correct and resubmit immediately. Most users see a less than 1% rejection rate.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and encrypted at rest using AES-256. We use OAuth-based connections to your accounting software with read-only scopes β€” we can never modify your data in Xero or QuickBooks. Access is controlled through role-based permissions, and every action is logged in our audit trail. We follow industry-standard security practices. For specific compliance certifications or third-party review reports, contact us for the latest documentation.
No. TaxConnect works over any standard internet connection. There is no requirement for a static IP address, VPN, or any additional hardware. You can use TaxConnect from anywhere β€” your office, home, or on the go.
TaxConnect connects through the PRAL/FBR digital invoicing API route. Submissions follow the required schema for notified or covered taxpayers, and you remain the registered taxpayer responsible for your invoices β€” TaxConnect is the tool you use to submit them. Our pre-submit validation helps reduce avoidable errors before anything reaches FBR, but it does not remove all compliance risk.
TaxConnect supports Xero (via OAuth 2.0), QuickBooks Online (via OAuth 2.0), and any system that can export data via CSV or Excel. If you use desktop QuickBooks, other ERPs, or a custom system, you can export your invoices as a CSV file, upload it to TaxConnect, map your columns, and submit. We are actively adding more direct integrations β€” contact us if you need a specific platform.
Most organizations complete setup in under 30 minutes. The process is: (1) create your account, (2) connect your accounting software via OAuth or upload a CSV template, (3) configure your business profile, tax rates, and HS codes. There is no IT project, no hardware to install, and no lengthy onboarding process. You can be submitting invoices to FBR on the same day you sign up.

Choose the monthly plan that matches your invoice volume and register at app.taxconnect.pk/register. Your selected plan determines the monthly invoice limit for your organization.
Sandbox testing is a safe, isolated environment where you can test invoice submissions without sending real data to FBR. TaxConnect provides a sandbox connected to PRAL's test API. You can submit sample invoices, verify that your data maps correctly, and confirm that submissions would align with expected validation rules β€” while still needing to follow your own internal and regulatory checks. This is especially useful for accounting firms onboarding new clients or testing new invoice templates. You can switch between sandbox and live mode with one click.
